Hello everybody! today I'm typing to you from my new dellnetmacbook. That's right against all my better instincts i went and did it. Some of you may remember a few months ago i posted a link to gizmodo that showed you how to take a Dell 10v netbook and install Mac OSX on it. Essentially turing it into a mini macbook. Believe it or not it works great. Before I Hakintoshed it i turned it on running Windows XP and it was slow and unresponsive. After installing OSX it's like a whole new machine. It runs fast and without problem. Even the little webcam works for ichat, Crazy. So lets break it down cheapest MacBook $999, Dell 10V $300, that's right I win. The idea behind this little guy is to get the blog going again.. let's hope it works for me.

You've probably been wondering what happened to me after my last post back in january. Well I've taken on alittle hobby project. When Kate and i were in italy we saw these cool little old Fiat 500 cars everywhere we went. so I thought I'd take a shot at trying to 3D model one. with most of my experiance being in plastic bottles a car is a whole new challenge. Anyway I'll post my progress as i go. The test render here is from about a week ago and alot of work on the back of the car has been done since.

Lastly, this weekend we went out and finally got Kate a proper keyboard. If you hadn't heard Kate has played piano pretty much her entire life and always used a real and beautiful piano. Keyboards have really come along way. This one sounds great and the keys are weighted and it really feels as if your playing a real piano. next time your by try to get her to play for you she's busy shaking the rust off now.

So I don't know if you heard...... but last week Apple announced it's new nugget of golden magic called the iPad. Is it just me or are we all getting a bit tired of Apple proclaiming how they are yet again "changing the world"? Don't get me wrong I'm a Apple fan but the chosen by god attitude is feeling well worn. Although I feel as if they may be doing it again...... just slower.

After seeing the announcement of the iPad I was initially disappointed and quick to proclaim this device to be the stinker of Apple's long barely tarnished track record. After a day of thinking about how stupid it was.... suddenly it dawned on me, my tiny brain just wasn't thinking future. For the computer industry to continue to grow 2 things had to happen. 1: the computer mouse must die. 2: with the death of the mouse the "desktop" metaphor must also die!!!

These 2 things are really one in the same. With the future being Multi-touch (like the iPhone) the mouse is an out of date tool that is only going to hold technology back. The Desktop Metaphor (which the user never really understood) created the mouse and is also holding back multi-touch. You can't add a touch interface to a system that was designed to be used with a mouse. Thus it makes total sense to make the iPad nothing more than a bigger more powerful iPhone. It's an interface that millions of people have already learned and are comfortable with (which is the biggest issue with creating any kind of software). Over the next few months and years I think we will see the laptop you may be reading this on slowly be replaced by a multi-touch device similar but more powerful than the iPad. With this change we will see the current Operating System and the iPhone OS slowly merge into a entirely new system. Mac OS X and Windows 7 haven't really changed in years. They've gotten prettier and more stable but the innovation in the concept is over. The other major PC makers have ignored the signs in the hopes that just making smaller more mobile versions of the same technology would be the next big thing. The next big thing has been on it's way for a few years and with out slowly educating the consumer how to use this new system it would fail.

I realize that HP has introduced several different touch multi-touch computers but have failed to make a full and compelling transition to a all new interface. Using the multi-touch feature as a novelty rather than a real user interface tool.

So we'll have to see if developers are able to make applications that are compatible with how our hands work. The last 25 years have seen us collectively struggle not only to learn how to use a computer but fight to make a mouse do what would be so easily done if only we could just reach out and touch it.

(I realize this is with out a doubt the nerdiest post I've ever written. I just wanted to put down this idea in writing to see if it comes true. It seems as if it will.)

Well alright, as you may have noticed our Mad Men Recap podcast has really started to pick up some steam. So when we realized that we have listeners that expend out side our family it's time to build a website.. So please be the first on your block to visit http://www.madmenrecap.com.... In true paul fashion there is no blogger templet here. It's built from the second floor up. (got a bit of help with a CSS templet). To make sure we get as much exposure as possible we have both a twitter feed and a facebook fan page which I encourage you all to join. I hope you like it. We were up late last night taping the finale episode of season 3, and I'm kinda beat. So check out the side and for the love of god get some people to join our FB fan page because right now it's just me and jen...

while wandering around the intertron last night i ran into this little article on gizmodo. It describes how to turn one of those little $300 dell netbooks into a mac netbook. I know this is supernerd stuff but it seems kinda fun and I thought might be useful for some of you in dport7 land. check out their post, you can do it in like 10 easy steps. I wish i would have seen this before we went to Italy it would have been great to look at our photos as we went to see how things were turning out.

hello dport7 faithful! I miss you. I know the last couple of months/year has been post light but i want in my heart of hearts to change that.. Although life won't let me. The wedding is (as it should) taking up a lot of my time. (watch you mail box for the invite in the next few weeks). then work is whipping my ass like i killed it's dog in a drunk'n rage, (which i didn't do) didn't get out before 10pm all week... So in an effort to win back a few readers i POSTED THE SSP PICS!! along with a link to jon (the jew's) personal photo page. So please relive it and enjoy.

next let's take a step into the way back machine and talk about the movie tron (nerds rejoice).. When i was a kid there was this freaky disney yes disney movie called Tron. If i remember right it was bout this guy that some how gets trapped inside a video game. really dark but visually kinda cool. big john diehl and i were fans... well the big scene from that movie was the moteercycle scene, epiclly cool and remembered by all. Well it turns out that in hollywoods infinite wisdom this year is the year for the sequel. I've posted the leaked trailer here but to be honest i'm not sure if all the cool new CG makes it that much better. i also posted the old trailer to help explain things... anyway you decide.

off to all points west, I'll try to post about that soon...

Hold on to your shorts we are pushing the me and paul show again. I added a podcast page to the site to help you more easily access the show. you may be asking yourself "shit are they still trying to do that show? are they still not really talking about anything? did jon ever get that "don't jar" and if so is it full yet?" To answer simply yes!. The show is getitng better slowly and there are plenty to choose from. What's nice is you can come here to dport7 and listen from computer in the world or you can click below and subscribe through itunes and pick up the new episodes as we do them. either way we hope you listen and respond to our plea's to call in and be part of the show. we are also working hard to improve the sound quality. I've forced jon to do some recording research and with any luck the next episode will have a much better volume.

so hope everyone had a great week. The SSP is around the corner and the city is a BUZZ with anticipation for this years party.
in other news (more nerdy news) the App store for the iphone launched last friday. For those of you that got hosed by the update stalling for hours i have something to make it all worth it. One of the free apps on the store is called LOOPT. Download the app here. What it does is allow you to see where your fiends are at when your out. so lets say i'm hanging out in union square and i check Loopt to see that rebecca is there to. I can send a message with loopt to see if she want to meet up. Either way it seems like fun especially here in the city where you can walk past a friend in a crowd and not even know it. I guess technically it's a social network of sorts. It integrates with facebook so that will make most of you kids happy. Before you get mad and say "well, Paul i don't have a iphone so i guess this is out of the question". Stop it right now! go to the Loopt website they support a bunch of phones. Please get on the stick and join this might be the only social network i join..........ever. I posted some screen shots so you could see how it works.
::::Update:::: posted some new pic in frames!!!!

Faithful so much to talk about. i know I've been delinquent on my posts as of late and your worried but don't fear. Here's the run down. i owe you some pictures in frames of the Kentukry Durby partys i attended, I need to review the appleTV I picked up a few weeks ago. Big John Diehl is in town this weekend. Oh the list goes on.
BUT rather than talk about any of that I'm posting this video saw this morning. Here's the thing I'm not a fan of animated movies but the new pixar film has caught my eye. Its called Wall-E and it's about a little robot that works in a dump. Anyway the robot looks like a small cooler version of Johny 5. This video shows a REAL LIFE Wall-E spotted on the streets of L.A. Man i wish I could do fun stuff like this! Anyway enjoy the clip i loved it, and I'm working hard to try to get some pictures up in frames.

so how was kickball? well pretty good. let me tell you how it works. if you don't know or didn't go to grade school kickball is played much like baseball. Just a big red rubber ball in place of all the baseball equitment. here in NYC the game is played in 5 innings. We have kinda a large time so i got up to kick just one time. oh don't worry faithful i made the best of it. grounded out in the most dignified of ways. i believe the kickball league was really formed to give 20 somethings yet another reasons to drink on the weekdays. Although it's on mondays and i'm afraid my drinking mondays are over. the best part of kick ball is hanging out with michele and erin, oh so funny!

Saturday night kate and i went to a dinner club type situation at BVA's house called the rabbit's foot. Brian and Megan and are hosting a supper club once a month on saturdays. I'm going to be honest, things like that usually scare me a bit. It forces me to act a bit more grown up then i usually care to. i had to take my hoodie off and leave the fart jokes at home. All my fears were for not i must say. The dinner was amazing and everyone was supper nice. Many of my G2 friends where there and things were relaxed.... Jihee took a bunch of great shots and posted them on her flicker. I took one picture my self. the one you see below is a bunny made of a black olive. nice right?

Lastly I stopped by target to pick up the long awaited MARIO CART. This is one of the main reasons I got the wii and I can't wait to really get into it. I was just to tired to really play tonight but soon my friends. If you like marioKart Please come on by and pick up a wiimote, by door is always open. well, when I'm home. don't break in.

This was shocking! On Saturday we went to a winter time BBQ and after the food they broke out the Xbox and started up guitar hero. For those of you that don't know guitar hero is a game that let's you fake your favorite rock songs on a little plastic guitar with 6 buttons where the frets are and a toggle paddle where you would strum the strings. As most of you know I'm not a huge fan of video games, and by know means do I love playing guitar hero but I will give it an over all rating of pretty fun. Now this is where it gets shocking. Kate loves guitar hero. While ian and I played a few songs with some success, kate got into it and refused to put the guitar down until she beat each song she tried. She became kind of the ladies rep for guitar hero at the BBQ. The other girls gave the game a quick try and gave up, while kate played on. This situation was extra gratifying for me, because with guitar hero player now in kate's past it takes one more step in evening the nerd gap. Is haveing your own web site nerdier than being a guitar hero lover? I think I know the answer and I wish it was guitar hero lover (but I know its not, damn.). Just in case you don't believe me I got a picture. Sorry for the iPhone crap pic quality.

So last night (Tuesday) ian and I went out to see the last corn mo show before be goes on tour. It was at parkside lounge and for a Tuesday it was a really really good turn out. Corn Mo and .367 lover (his band) put on another killer show. I hadn't been to a show since my birthday so it was great to hear some of the songs again. For as much as I blog about corn mo I'm disapponted I haven't been able to convince many of you to be fans but, check his web site and if you live in Texas make an effort to see a show you won't be sorry.

so for an end of week surprise i have this little nugget of content for you. the other day i got a email from apple showing how to make icons for the iphone and iPod touch. so because i want you all to check the blog no matter where you are i created one for your favorite site. "that's cool paul but how do i get it?" well on your device go to dport7.com. chances are if your reading this your already in the right spot. now all you have to do is hit the + at the bottom of the device. it will ask you if you want to "add to home screen". hit that button and your on your way. you can name it anything you want or leave it as is. All your friends that have become a bit disenchanted with you pulling out your iPhone all the time will instantly forgive you when they see your checking up on americans number 1 website for news about paul. i hope your surprised and you like it.

oh man so what happened to this weekend, you ask? well it was presidents day so i'm guessing everyone went out dressed up as their favorite president from american history, and got crazy. I know i did. That's right i, dressed up as Martin Van Buren president of this great country from 1837-1841 known for being a "snappy dresser". you might be saying to yourself "paul, how the hell did you pull that off. Van Buren at best he was 5 feet 6 inches tall. You tower over that height you must have looked like an ass. Indeed I did. lessoned learned.

in other news i'm a proud owner of a new MAC. with some help from Rebecca and some kindly donors including myself and others. i finally after years of waiting bought my mac pro. It's great, it supplied the new rendering that's currently the banner here on the site. With it's ability to run windows it makes it possible for me to do all my 3D modeling and rendering in one spot. which is great. the first thing i did was to model myself a mount for my iSight camera. The current apple displays don't come with a built in webcam so i wanted to hook up the apple iSight i used with my laptop for some years. the thing is, they don't make the iSight anymore and finding a mount to attach it to my monitor posed a problem. finally my years of modeling came in hand in my home life. I quickly fired up solidworks, copied my old laptop mount and customized to fit my new display. i had to go into work to finish some stuff up on saturday night so i tossed the file in the printer and in three hours had my very own one of a kind mount. i know this may be a bit nerdy but i thought it was pretty cool. for the past couple of years all the models i've made went no further then rendering. it's great to make some thing i can actually use. i posted it so check it out.

Hey everybody it's time for the weekly check in. not much to say really i was kinda sick for most of the week so i didn't go out or do or see anything really. although i did see something cool or all you flickr and facebook crazed people. it's called eye-fi it's a memory card for your digital camera that is also a wifi card. this means that when you take a picture you can then go to a wifi hotspot and upload that shot straight from the camera to your favorite photo site be it flickr, facebook, shutterfly, or whatever they support lots of different services. it seems like it could be really fun.

in other news, today was the first snow fall of this winter season, which is always exciting. it really turned cold here on saturday night and then sunday morning i woke up to a fresh snow fall. as you know sometimes i like to make a little video, so at the train stop i thought I'd try to catch a bit of snow fall for you.

happy 4th of july from dport7 everyone

so today i woke up early (because i'm crazy) and went down to the fifth ave. apple store to checked out the iPhone. as you all know it is amazing. the screen is like a dream of endless ice cream and kitten (for those of us that aren't lactose intolerant and like kittens). it's so sharp it doesn't even look like a screen it just looks real. everything else you might have heard is true it works flawlessly and even the typing isn't too bad although i had some frustrating moments few times. the part i was most excited to see was how dport7 looked on it. i was impressed to say the least. the site comes up in all its glory and just tapping on the text zooms in to fit that area to the screen and it so easy to read i caught my own blog spelling errors. i was excited to go to the frames portion of the site to see if the picture magic thing i installed early this year worked. my jaw dropped right to the floor when IT DID. for all you secret computer nerds out there this was huge. i was a little surprised though that after probably 15 minutes of standing there playing with it i wasn't dyeing to throw my $600 at the sales person and run out the door with it. it feels as if it could do so much more. most of the cool features on the device use the internet and with AT&T's edge network being so slow i'd be relegated to using it in my living room on my wi-fi network sitting right next to my laptop. before i throw my $600 at a iPhone i need some 3rd party FTP apps for loading pictures to the blog and a data network (edge) that doesn't blow.... although it's still hard not to run back there and play with it one more time.

this week has been intense!!!! for real. besides having a big project going on at work all week i still found time to do some extra curricular activities. tuesday night kate and i were invited by nicole to the gallery party were she works. it was what you might expect from a gallery party epicly cool with a crowed that only comes to that kind of event. a few of the artists were at the party and nicole showed us around the gallery and kindly explained all the art. this shot is the space and more in frames .... check it out totally kinda art cool.

on thursday night i went to the new website launch party at TODA (check it out). for those of you keeping score today was my first job here in new york. as you know i keep intouch with some of the staff and it was great to see everyone again and be back up in the office. as far as the web site goes i think it's great it' much more information rich and a bit more immersive than the last site. i was excited.

thursday also brought the fond fair-well to the Anderson's Phil and Leena. kate and i met them for a good bye drink at the rose and stone in columbus circle. it's sad to see friends leave the city but kate and i tried hard to convince them that Burlington vermont is going to be fun relaxing and a quality of life few can afford in this town. dport7 wishes you luck and we look forward to coming up to see you soon.

friday was Eban's birthday so we were out and about. the kid made it to 24. way to go pal

lastly i sent all day saturday cleaning my apartment; a move out quality clean. it took all day but this place is a nice now and it really needed it. by the way tyson got an iPhone and i can't sleep. yeah no your right that's sad.

alright everyone this has been a week to forget my friends. for almost all of it i was battling a bitch of the common cold. so much in fact that i called in sick to work on tuesday and wednesday which is a big deal because i haven't called in sick in a few years now. i'll tell you what though if your really sick do yourself a favor and take the days off because it really helps man. I'm usually sick twice as long as i was this time. it's sunday and i feel pretty well. unfortunately because of this illness i was unable to take advantage of the weekend and spent the days sitting in my apt. on my computer.
staring into the warm glow of my powerbook i decided it was time to resurrect pauldiehl.com. this time though it would not be flash. i've been burned by flash and i'm going to shy away from doing a full site in it for a while. i decided with this to build a html and css page from the ground up. you might say "hey smart guy this site is html and css what's the big deal" well smart ass your right but my good friend jenn helped me do most of the heavy lifting on this site so i wanted to try and do one all on my own. if you check it out don't be turned off by the images up there they are just for placement i'm still working out how the site will be laid out. so check in often as the site progresses.
this is what happens when i'm sick and is raining and no one will hangout.

Ok everyone it's time for the spring time dport7 super charge. First off THE STICKERS ARE HERE!!!!!! as you can see I'm excited. i've got 1500 so i'm ready to hand them out to you the dport7 faithfull to spread them around your respective cities. i was thinking they should be in every dive bar bathroom in the nation, but i'll leave it up to you. so send me an email with your address and i'll get some out to you.

Second and this is HUGE i have added a crazy cool magic like feature to the frames section. i decided not to bring back the slide show this year because it was just too slow. so instead i installed this thing called lightbox. I could explain it but check it out for yourself. The main thing is that for it to work you have to let the entire page load before you click on an image. for the nerds out there the entire effect is done without flash it's 3 external pages of javascript. CRAZY!!!. I really like it and i think it finally makes the frames page works the way it should. please enjoi and let me know what you think.

Last (and this was awesome) on thusrday i went to see my new favorite singer/songwritter Corn Mo. this guy is uber tallented and if you get a chance to see him take it he puts on a great rock show and if his band is with him (.357 lover) it's even better and more intense rock. nicole and ian joined me at the knitting factory for the show and even though they wern't as crazy onto it as i was i think we all agreed it was indeed worth the time and money. i kinda nerded out and got my picture with corn mo. nicole was trying to be cool about it and talk for a while and then take the shot but all i could think of was blogging with a picture of me and corn mo. i'm a tool

So how about a general update, things I've been meaning to mention but haven't gotten around to.
First up and always top of mind i have a dport7 treat update for you. as we all know dumpy has gone missing from the site and is feared dead after the site redesign. to fill that gap the IT staff has finally gotten around to producing a killroy version. if you don't know what this means it's a osx icon you can place on the right hand side of your dock to give you an express connection to dport7.com. it's like a web bookmark in your dock. so DOWNLOAD it now and drag it to the dock then place the one that remains on your desktop into your documents folder.

I have a couple of websites to plug. first (and I'm really late on this one) is dport7's own professor (formerly uncle urb) and allison are tying the not and he's dedicated a website to keeping you up to date on the entire process. check it out and for the love of god sign the guestbook they love that.
second is a little site called heats and laserbeams. it's my fast friend steph calvert and her newly married self. she's been liked on dport7 for a while but i wanted to alert you all to her new improved site. take notice it have robots. hummmmm the influence of dport continues????????? probably not.

Lastly last night i was out to a co-worker's birthdays birthday party down on the lower east side. the bar was called ACE. man was it packed. unfortunately all there was room to do was hold a beer close to the vest. as you may know i'm a tall drink of water and i need to stretch my shit out. if the music is good this lanky white boy needs room to move. lucky for me the music wasn't very good. spent most of the night making fun of this guy playing pool who couldn't figure out weather to wear his hood half way on or a hat..... tool bag.

does your apartment remind you of a prison. mine does... white walls no posters no art just off white. it looks like you just moved in last weekend and when people come over they flip you a quarter and tell you to get an education and do something with your life..... well dport7 faithful i found us a solution that could possibly be free. it's called rastorbator. It's a online app that let's you take any image under 1MB and turn it into a wall mural. It takes the image turns it into dots so you get an optical mixed huge wall poster of just about any image you want. i did a test this morning and it worked great. so if you have an office job with a fast laser printer this is the cool, stay a little late and print out a 40-120-1000 page mural before you go home...I'm still looking for the right image but when i find it I'll let you see what i've done.

here's an example of what i'm talking about... so get ready

copy write infringement is a load for hose puckie man..... I know a lot of you could care less about this stuff and to be honest i usually don't care either.... however last week viacom turned the screws on youtube and demanded they pull done 100,000 videos from the site clamming copy write infringement..... now i'm note really a huge fan of youtube either. most of it consists of highschool kids lip sinking and video's of scuba diving cats. but the one and only thing i loved about youtube was it was the only place left on the net to watch silf and olly.... the show that defined a generation... so on saturday i was feeling a little down and though "why not watch some sifl and olly to cheer me back up" I go to you tube do my search and find it's been "taken down because of copy write infringement".... this is bullshit man!!!!!!! I love that show and now viacom has to come along with their pack of lawyers to be mr killjoy for young america....... here's what i'm saying if they release sifl and olly on DVD i would buy it in a heart beat, but THEY HAVEN'T DONE THAT!!!!!! what has this world become? i'll tell you, a bunch of greedy toolbags unwilling to let people appreciate others work with out paying every sent they think they're owed.... I think the moral of the story here is if your ganna be greedy for the love of god at least give me the chance to pay for it!!!!
in honor of sifl and olly and copy write infringement here's a clip i ripped from youtube just last weekend.... it's one of my favorites and i'll miss all the fun we could have had together youtube (tears fall to the keyboard)

OMG the wii
that's right kids i got my hands on the new nintendo wii. i just couldn't resist.. i'm not really a video game person and haven't even played a nintendo since i still lived at home in ohio. the wii is amazing though. i just have wii sports and man is it fun. the controller really follows you movement well. the tennis is my favorite and boxing is fun too. my friend from work ray came over to help test it out and we both agreed it was crazy fun. the system itself has a lot of cool features like the wii news and weather channels and an online store to buy old nintendo and sega games.... I couldn't resist and bought the original super mario brothers. you can play with up to four people so i need to get atlest one more wii remote. man it's just really fun....
so to buy the games from the online store you have to purchuse "wii points" which is kinda a racket. it's 500 points for a old nintendo game ($5) and 800 points for super nintendo games. it thought that was a bit steep but i'm a sucker.

so come on over and play.

i'm so excited by the iphone i'm worried for my health. for real if you have the time, and your interested watch the keynote from steve. there's nothing about the iphone that isn't impressive. what's so exciting for me is the idea of being able to blog with pictures anytime anywhere. the reason i never got a differn't smart phone is because they don't fully access the internet so i was never sure if it would work with blogger.... now though i'm in. oh man the built in camera means more blogs, more on the go photos and more dport7 all around. it's really exciting for mobile communication. it looks as if other 3rd party applications will be able to be developed so everything from personal widgets to ftp clients may be possible. the long and short of all this is that i'm a huge nerd about this stuff, but i can't help it, i just get really excited. oh man if you get a chace check out the google maps stuff, talk about never getting lost again or having to print out directions. either way the entire thing sound really exciting now we all just gotta wait till june. the good news about that is we can start setting aside some cash because the little bugger cost $599 and that's alot of ballons pal. tell me what your thinking about it.

uhhhh so last night was the entire office christmas party as this place called
Guastavino's which happens to be under the queens bough bridge. The place was really impressive. it's this reception hall that's literally built into the bridge and exposing the architecture as the interior decor. i have to say i had a much better time this year than last year. why? mainly because I know more people now so the awkward feeling is lessened. over all it was a good night i didn't say or do anything too stupid and other than a bit of dancing i don't think i embarrassed myself too horribly. sadly the after party was less than worth while so one of the other guys i work with and I jumped in a cab and went to a local bar down town for a few more.

hey for those of you that keep up as web site check out this thing
fireftp. it's an extenion for firefox that puts an ftp client in your browser. i just set it up here and it really handy for times your not on your home computer.

so check this out! my canon powershot digital camera got stolen off my desk at work!!!!!!!! Yes the little guy that's been bringing you all the inspiring images on dport7 for the past 3 years has been lost to the hands of a criminal. i gotta say it makes me a little sad to think that someone where i work may have lifted the camera right off my desk at 2 in the afternoon. I only have fond memories of the little guy. he'd been through a lot. a short time in Cincinnati, then California and then pulling it's longest shift here in new york. being that presently i've been trying to not spend the money i won't be rushing out to by a new one. although i have to say if i did i'd rock the same thing. either way you can thank the bastard that stole my camera for the new lack of fresh photos on the site.

in other news i saw borat last night..... funny...... a bit to gross...... threw down some pabst with the kids after the show. all and all a good time even though the movie could have been a bit better. less male nudity and a bit more situational humor.

Ok so i guess i owe an update on this one. I got my laptop back on tuesday with a brand new harddrive new ram and even a foot on the bottom i was missing. sadly though the data was all lost. i'll live. Why new ram you ask? well it turns out i had bad ram the guy that called me from the apple store said that's what caused the harddrive to crash so hard but I don't know about that. as you might know i moved and it turns out with my rotten luck there is not a open wifi signal in my area so the updates to the site are going to be slow till october 13 when my DSL gets turned on.

in other news yes the move went smoothly and the new place is great. For a NYC apt. it pretty large. It's a bit weird living alone but i think it's just intensified because I have no internet or tv. hmmmmmmmmm it seems like i have something else to tell you but i guess that's it. Oh I bought a couch.... yeah I'm real excited but it doesn't get delivered for like 3 weeks

grab a box of tissues...... sit down......... open up an old english and pour one out because my Powerbook G4 died this morning... I'll give you a moment.............. So last night before i went to bed i noticed it had frozen and i thought it was just because i downloaded the new ilife update and had itunes running at the same time. this morning when i got up to check my email i turned on the computer and got the flashing folder and question mark. I thought it might have just been an OS corruption but when i put in my repair disks it couldn't find a harddrive. your probably say "oh man paul i hope you backedup"... turns out i'm pretty well backup but I still lost some stuff. Mainly the master copy FLA of delight design and the master FLA of the new site coffee and a danish. I'm planning to take it into the apple store on sunday of possible and with any luck apple care will replace the hard drive and maybe pull some stuff off of it (that's not likely). so be it that it's friday when your throwing back a beer this evening after work drink one for my Powerbook because it ran dport7 content along with a lot of other stuff like a hause.
