hey everyone we are just about to leave for the honeymoon, but before we go I wanted to post the BIGGEST THANK YOU on the face of the planet. Our parents receiving the biggest chunk of that. Along with the friends and family that all traveled and the best wedding party brooklyn has ever seen. hey everybody. well i hope you got your invitations. I think everyone has them by now. we've already got a bunch of RSVP's back so thanks to everyone who's been on the ball with that. only one has been sent back undelivered. that slippery eben swanson is harder to nail down on location than jimmy hoffa. if you see him tell him to come by and pick it up he knows where we live. anyway just want to post a pic for posterity sake and i hope you all liked them!!

This weekend was kate's bridal shower in defiance ohio. tha't's right my home town.. how did it feel to go back? well to be honest the house i grew up in looks great. i would love to have a few days there just to sleep and relax. defiance it's self has seen better days. I think like a lot of small towns, this latest economic down trun has hit pretty hard. Either way it was a nice time my parents put together quite a good shower weekend. I've included a few pics from the weekend, the first is most of the family minus my dad. second is mad cat. mad cat hangs around my house and terrorizes all the other cats, and is generally kinda a bastard. the last shot is my grandfather's dog buddy, or as he's known around those parts cat killing dog.. don't let him fool you every time he wanders over to my parents house he kills as many kittens as he can find.... although with a face like that he makes me sound like a lier.. that all said, kate and i had a great time and send out a big thanks to everyone involved... although many of those people don't read this blog.. feel the karma .

so i just finished the final address list for the invites. it was a nightmare a lot of the list i had for the save the date's was unusable because for some stupid reason i had made the text outlines.. i think i'm in the habit of that because as a ID guy i never have any fonts so by default make everything outlines when i finish... anyway watch your mail box. the invites go out monday and if you don't get one it's because i just plain forgot or you got lost in the shuffle. although i doubt that because i made Kate help me triple check... anyway get excited and let me know what you think!!!

I found this the other day and thought it was a little piece of robot heaven... it's a kind of robot leg from a puma add. as some of you may remember I was trying to build a new robot and i never finished... since then i've been trying to collect inspirational images and thought i'd share this one with you.

Blah blah blah I'm sorry.... but hey cut me some slack i've been busy. First the big parent meet up happened. yes thats right after 7 years of dating the Rybicki's and the Diehl's met here in brooklyn. Everything went great and lots of wedding stuff got figured out. One of those wedding things was the Save The Date cards. They went out about a week and a half ago and, well..... i hope you got yours and you like it. If you didn't get one..... well i can't believe there is anyone that reads this blog that didn't receive one. If by some chance you are that someone then email me your address and i'll get one out to you post heist.
last weekend kate and i were visited by my good old friend from high school brian louis lauvray from chicago Ill. It was a nice chill visit we hung out in the neighborhood all weekend going to local restaurants and bars. We even had a little cook out on the roof. Kate and i fired up this little grill she's had forever and made a few dogs. Speaking of bars in the neighborhood the place just down from my apt "Sharlene's" just opened last week. brian had a bit of an altercation with the bar tender but i liked it just fine. Well, also speaking of altercations check out the new episode of the Me and Paul show that Brian and i taped while he was here. notice there is no Jon on this episode mainly because he bailed...... nice.....
Lastly I don't care that Kirstie Allie is fat again.

after seven years of perfecting my mind control techniques I finally was able to get Kate so say YES!!!! That's right dport7 faithful this saturday november 1 at around 3pm kate and i were at the boat house in prospect park and i proposed marriage. after a slight tear explosion she said Yes!!! and i breathed a hefty sigh of relief (know never know how these things will go). Yes if you're wondering i did take a knee, and yes I also called the Rybicki's to ask if it was alright with them before i popped the question. Although i had hopped to blind side Kate with the proposal i think she saw it coming from a ways away. She knew that this weekend was the 7 year anniversary of our first date way back in college. Also lets face it it's been a courtship of seven years, some would say it's about time. I could go on and on but you know me i'm not one to gush. We took a shot right after, and i took a close up of the ring because honestly that was the most intense experience i've ever had buying anything.

so i'm ganna keep this relatively short because i just posted 28 NEW pictures in frames so tell this story with pictures. anyway! I'm back from savannah and the wedding and kings inn. the wedding was lovely bill and katie were both glowing with excitement and gave us all a lovely wedding to attend. the service was great loved the ministers talk. really solid. the location was beautiful and the weather couldn't have cooperated more. the reception was at the telfair museum and went super smooth. danced a bit and was told later by bill's parents friends that i won that dance competition but would receive no prize. seeing all the old college folks was great. big thanks goes out to joel for driving ian and i around and not kicking me in the balls. of course all the best to bill and katie!!!

saw jenn, like i said at the KINGS INN. had a crazy great time. took a little video might try to post it tomorrow. i sang everything i wanted. jenn owns the place with her song selection. Oh and her friend tad is ok. has a creepy habit of walking behind you in a stalker type fashion but its cool.

ok no picture today. I'll fill you in anyway. Last night ian Joel and I hit the town just like the old days. After starting at Pinkie Masters (which has not changed in the least, even some of the old regulars are still there). Then moved on to Vinnies and on to the rail pub. This was kinda hard for me because when I was here at school the rail pub was kind of the place to go. Now its just full of a bunch of lame kids sings really lame 90's shit rock karaoke. I sang peaches by the presidents of the united states of america and no one cared. Then we closed the bars down at some Scottish place on congress. You know they say you can never go back, and for as lame as that saying is its sooo true. You had your time and weather it was cool or not it seemed cool, and its impossible to remember it as any less then the best.

today was golf. Yes that's right I went golfing. I'm really horrible, although I had two good shots to at least save face alittle. We were playing a scramble (look it up) and I was on a team with bill (the groom) and the bride's father and brother. For not getting to bed till 4 the night before and getting up a 7 for the tee time i handeled myself pretty well. Had a pretty good time and didnt really hit the wall so to speak untill lunch time. Bill really carried our team. Of course we did our best to destroy the golf carts. But they always cap the speed on those things so you can't get them airborne.

Right now I'm waiting for Jenn Norwood to come pick me up so we can go to the kings inn to do some real karaoke. Jenn is a pro and I have a few killer songs in mind. I'm doing a neil diamond song in honor of both kate and brian. Also I'm going to see if jen wants to do the clash's train in vein with me. (if you dont know this song, go buy it. One of the best)

i don't even know how to start..... ian (newly hired unpaid dport7 unpaid intern) and i went to charlotte north carolina last week (wednesday) for our good friend and yours prof. and alison's wedding. i'm exhausted...... ian and i were running on all ten cylinders to make sure that aaron never wanted to be single again. the wedding was beautiful and the bride (alison) was stunning. the bachelor party was done right with an all day even involving everything from paintball to a yard of beer and more. aarons dad received the spirit award for his paintball talent and his over all ability to hang... along with a strong showing of dance at the reception. i'm working on editing the over 30 minutes of video we took over the weekend so if you don't see yourself in frames have no fear your represented in the film.
lastly the funny/scary story from the weekend came right after the reception when we got back to the hotel. ian chris and i went down the block to pick up some beers for a little after party. after finding a gas station we picked up too much bud and headed back. as we were walking out through the gas pumps i heard so young ladies holler out at us. I figured being in tuxes this was bound to happen. thinking fast and impaired i quickly talked them into giving us a ride back to the hilton. as soon as we started to drive tia and taylor started to hand us their business cards. in a cloud of confusion asked what it was all about and they informed us that they were local escorts. in a flurry of panic i told them we were all gay so they would lose interest and in a huff they dropped us off. the good news is they didn't rob us (they were small anyway) the other good news is if you ever in Charlotte over race weekend and lonely and feeling your morals loosening up you got two new Friends to call.
in summation i want to give a big thanks to aaron and alison for having us at their wedding i had a better than great time and i hope you have a happy fun and successful marriage.
